Noise at Work

Thousands of people in the UK suffer from deafness, tinnitus and other ear conditions as a result of exposure to noise within the workplace.

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 place a duty on employers to ensure that noise exposure levels are reduced to meet the new exposure limits and a specific requirement is placed on employers to ensure health surveillance is conducted. One of the major changes to the revised regulations is the reduction by 5dB of the exposure levels at which action has to be taken. This is enforced by Environmental Health Officers and Health and Safety Executive enforcers. Abode Acoustics will work with your company to identify what assessment or survey is needed to locate areas of high noise levels ad assess occupational noise exposure levels and identify where and when employees are exposed to levels which are excessive. We can then work with you to implement suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) and methods of protecting your employees from exposure to excessive noise.
